2019 a year to come

2019, a year of more classes, a year of teaching, a year of new contacts, a year to be excited about.  Wow that seems like such a large list of goals to achieve in such a short amount of time.  Well, check, check, check, and check; goals accomplished. lol  It is easy to set your goals for a season when they are already set in motion.  I didn’t say that my goals were accomplished, I did say that they are set and on their way to success.

A year of more classes.  In 2018, I had started to offer succulent classes in the spring, followed by annual planting classes, which lead to fall arrangements and Christmas centerpieces.  I knew that I enjoy teaching but after a season like last year I now know that I LOVE!!! teaching about plants.  So when the opportunity came to do more classes and fundraisers for 2019, I jumped on the ride. I can’t wait for it all to start and I look forward to seeing you throughout the season.

A year of teaching. Well who knew a greenhouse junky could teach.  lol It is one of my passions and I love to see children become more active in gardening and knowing where their food comes from.  It is satisfying to see those little and sometimes not so little eyes light up when their cup of wheat, peas, whatever we plant, comes out of the ground.  They really feel a sense of pride that they can grow something. I feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that I helped in that process.  LOVE IT!!!!

A year of new contacts. With doing the classes away from the greenhouse, it has opened up my doors to new and exciting people that are like minded and eager for spring, eager to plant, and eager to make things beautiful.  Being surrounded by like-minded people is inspiring and fills this greenhouse lady’s heart with gratitude.

A year to be excited about.  This year not only are we offering more classes and fundraising opportunities but I am opening an online store that will feature plants or potted arrangements for that week only.  This will be a one week special only and they are a one of a kind service that we will provide.  Limited amounts will be posted during that week and you will have the chance to purchase or save your “Weekly Treat” through our website store.  The offers will run from March 12, 2019 to June 11, 2019.  I am excited and nervous all in the same breath.  As with anything new it is the unexpected that has me up at night lol

SOOOOOO…. we will be starting production at the end of February with planting geraniums and so on and so forth.  I’ve got some new staff coming this year so stop by and say hello.  We will be opening for annual sales only May 1, 2019 to May 13, 2019 which will give us the time to bring in the water plants, trees, shrubs, perennials, etc. that usually arrive around May 10 or so.  Starting May 13, 2019 we will be fully open to sell all our available products.  What I ask of you if your coming the first 10 days of May is to be patient, don’t mind the chaos, and please ask for assistance.  We have ALOT!!!!! on our plates and will be moving product into its place for the season.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Take care until next time,

Welcome 2014

Posted by Judy Kraushaar on Monday, January 6, 2014
2014, what do you have for us?

I took the Christmas season off from my office and all it's piles of work waiting for me.  It feels great to come back refreshed and have a renewed feeling that the piles mean progress not just work.  The cold weather also keeps me focused on the now well sorted to do piles that will soon be marked as finished.  Christmas was fantastic for me this year.  It was filled with family, memories, traditions, and friends.  I truly am blessed to have all of them in our...

Let me try again

Posted by Judy Kraushaar on Friday, October 25, 2013
When I wrote the unsaved blog yesterday I was feeling that time has been flying by too quickly.  I can't believe that the harvest finally finished and that we are in preparation mode for the snow.  SNOW something we have had twice already.  HEAT something we didn't have a whole lot of this summer.  MOISTURE something I thought we would never get rid of. Spring, that seemed to linger on forever. Summer, did we have one. Fall, hoping for a Chinook. Winter, that comes too soon but is a welcome s...

Phew... almost missed it!!!

Posted by Judy Kraushaar on Monday, April 22, 2013
Phew.... I thought I had missed spring while being so wrapped up in the tropics.  I can now see some mud and running little rivers in my yard.  I usually dislike this time of year because I am constantly vaccuming and shoveling out my porch. However, this year I am welcoming the mud, extra tonnes of laundry, the build up of water behind my greenhouses with open arms and embracing the smell of rotting grass and snow mold.  Yum!!!  On the brighter side, I do leave the stench to the smell of fre...

Off to the tropics

Posted by Judy Kraushaar on Saturday, February 23, 2013
As I have always stated, I look forward to this time of year when I get to head to my tropical vacation.  I have started up the grow shed and I have had to afjust to working in the 28+ greenhouse. I planted the petunias, gazanias, violas, strawberries, dusty miller, some tomatoes, and others I can't spell.  I planted them on Tuesday this week after a winter getaway with my siblings, and our parents. Which by the way was fantastic. Thanks mom and dad. We went fishing, snowmobiling, hot tubbing...
